Understanding the chemical nature of biomarkers and their interaction with host environment is critical to both development implementation diagnostic tools therapeutics. Human lipoproteins, such as high-density lipoprotein (HDL) low-density (LDL), are important carrier molecules for transporting cholesterol other lipid organs where they can be processed. These lipoproteins have more recently been shown serve universal traffic pathogen-associated in blood. In this study, we characterized physical properties human HDL, LDL, chylomicrons very (VLDL) order inform future assay development. We evaluated antibody binding interactions, size, zeta potential well UV-Vis spectrum these under varying physiologically relevant conditions. first measured cross-reactivity various monoclonal polyclonal antibodies determine relative apolipoprotein compositions lipoproteins. found that A (apoA) present HDL chylomicrons, VLDL, apoB VLDL apoE VLDL.
